CATS
Millie - 6 mths old.
Millie was approximately 6 weeks old when she and Sherlock were found dumped near the bins at the local supermarket. She is inquisitive and playful. She seems quite fluffy. She is happy around the other cats and is not perturbed by the dogs. She can travel from the end of January.
Molly - 7 mths old. Spayed.
Molly is a quiet girl who likes to sit under things or high up. She is gradually gaining confidence. She gets on fine with the other cats although she is not very playful. She accepts the dogs. She is small / medium size.
Ebony - 5 mths old.
Ebony was found in the street late one night. She is a playful girl who gets along with the other cats. She is quite inquisitive about the dogs. She will need to be 4 months old before she can travel (mid January 2019).
Cloud - Spayed 🌥
Cloud gets along well with the other cats and doesn't seem concerned by the dogs.
Sooty 5 mths old. Male.
Sooty was found abandoned in the street at only about 4 weeks old and brought to the shelter by a kind young girl. Sooty is a playful, happy chap. He is fine with the other cats and doesn't seem worried by the smaller dogs.
Eden - 3 yrs old. Spayed.
Eden is ready to travel to her new home. She is currently living in foster with a number of other cats. She is a friendly girl.
Puffa - 9 mths old. Spayed.
Puffa is currently living in foster with other cats. She can live happily in a multi cat household.
Mango. 11 mths old. Neutered.
Mango is a lovely boy with a curious nature. He is currently in foster with a number of other cats. He is ready to travel.
Kiwi - 11 mths. Spayed.
Kiwi is in foster along with a number of other cats, including her brother Mango. She is a little shy but will accept fuss. She has a slightly cloudy left eye which will need to be investigated by an opthalmologist and will be available for adoption once we have established the cause and dealt with any treatment necessary. However, you can still apply to adopt Kiwi.
DOGS
PRINCE - 3 yrs old. Neutered.
SIZE: Large. 30/40kg. TYPE: Shepherd X. OTHER DOGS: Tolerates calm female dogs. CATS: No. CHILDREN: No. 🐩 Prince has been at the shelter since June 2018. He appears to be a Bucovan Shepherd x, known for their loyalty and guarding instincts. Prince would enjoy a quiet, rural lifestyle. He loves humans and he is fine with calmer, female dogs. He does not like to be touched around the muzzle. Not for a family with children.
LEXI - 11 mths old. Spayed.
SIZE: Medium. TYPE: X. OTHER DOGS: Yes. CATS: Can be cat tested. CHILDREN: 10+. ON THE LEAD: Pulls. Will need training. 🐩 Lexi is approximately a year old. She is a very lively, happy puppy, weighing approximately 15/17kg. She was found as a small puppy in the street, outside a cathedral, having been attacked by other dogs. Despite this she loves playing with other dogs. She adores people. She walks on a lead, although she does pull. She can be cat tested upon request. She is spayed and vaccinated. Lexi would suit an active household, preferably with another active, resident dog.
TIGER - 3 yrs old. Neutered. 🖤
SIZE: Big. 25/30kg. TYPE: GSD/Boxer X. OTHER DOGS: Yes. CATS: Can be cat tested. CHILDREN: 10+. ON THE LEAD: Pulls. Some training needed. 🐩 Tiger arrived at the shelter with Zilly, the mother of his 3 puppies (Dolly, Mabel & Rupert). He gets on with other dogs, though some are intimidated by his size. He loves a fuss from humans. He is generally calm. He would benefit from some basic training since he pulls a little on the lead but he will make a fantastic dog in the right home.
ZILLY - 3/4 years old. Spayed. 🖤
SIZE: Medium/big. TYPE: GSD x. OTHER DOGS: Yes. CATS: Can be cat tested. CHILDREN: 10+. 🐩 Zilly arrived in July along with Tiger (the father) and her 3 puppies, Dolly, Mabel and Rupert. Zilly is a good mum, playful with her puppies and the other dogs. She has a calm temperament. She is happy around people.
LOLA - 2/3 yrs old. Spayed. 💛
SIZE: Small. TYPE: JRT x. OTHER DOGS: Yes, polite dogs. CATS: Can be tested. ON THE LEAD: Can be tested. 🐩 Lola is one of our longer stay residents. She was very nervous when she first arrived with her 5 puppies but over the months she has relaxed and started to trust people. She gets along well with the other dogs. Lola is now ready for a comfy sofa to curl up on.
SHILOH - Neutered.
SIZE: Large. TYPE: Cane Corso. OTHER DOGS: No. CATS: No. CHILDREN: No. ON THE LEAD: Some training required. Very strong. 🐩 Shiloh was found completely emaciated and starving but since arriving at the shelter he has put on weight. He does not like men so would be best in an all female household. Because of his size we are also saying no resident children. Shiloh loves his rescuer and he particularly loves playing fetch, but he doesn't get to play with the other dogs because his size intimidates them. Shiloh will need adopters who are familiar with large breeds and in the right home he will make a loyal, loving companion.
ROCKY - D.O.B. January 2013. Neutered.
SIZE: Big. 25/30kg. TYPE: Beagle X. OTHER DOGS: Yes. CATS: Can be cat tested. CHILDREN: 10+ 🐩 Rocky was surrendered by the master when the master no longer wanted him. He loves playing in the yard with the other dogs, but his one great love is people. He will lick you to death and will enjoy as many cuddles as you can possibly give him. He weighs in at about 30 kg and is nearly 5 years old and still behaves like a puppy! He is not aware of his own strength so he would be best homed with dogs of a similar size to him, not smaller dogs or cats. He will walk on a lead and would suit an active household. He is neutered and ready to travel.
AVA - 2/3 yrs old. Spayed. 💜
SIZE: Big. TYPE: Belgian Shepherd X. OTHER DOGS: Yes. CATS: Can be cat tested. CHILDREN: 10+ 🐩 Ava was found as a small puppy, along with her brother Aris, and has spent her whole life in kennels. Despite this she is a sociable girl. She gets on well with other dogs. Obviously because she has never experienced a home environment she will need an adopter who is willing to help her learn how to experience new things.
ARIS - 2/3 yrs old. Neutered. 💜
SIZE: Big. TYPE: Belgian Shepherd X. OTHER DOGS: Yes. CATS: Can be cat tested. CHILDREN: 10+ 🐩 Aris was found as a puppy when he was just a few weeks old. He and his sister Ava have been in one shelter or another ever since. Despite this Aris is friendly and gets on well with other dogs. He will need an adopter who is willing to help him learn the joys of living in a home.
BLUE - 2/3 yrs old. Spayed. 💙
SIZE: Medium/big. TYPE: Shepherd X. OTHER DOGS: Yes. CATS: Can be cat tested. CHILDREN: 10+ 🐩 Blue has been in a shelter for just over 18 months, since she was rescued along with her puppy Maya. She is well socialised with other dogs and likes people she knows, being slightly weary of new people. Blue will need an adopter who will be patient and understanding when introducing her to a home environment.
MAYA - 2yrs old. Spayed. 💙
SIZE: Medium/big. TYPE: Shepherd X. OTHER DOGS: Yes. CATS: Can be cat tested. CHILDREN: 10+ 🐩 Maya was rescued as a puppy, along with mum Blue and has only ever known shelter life. Despite that she is reasonably confident around new people. She gets on well with all the other dogs. She will need an adopter who is prepared to teach her what it's like to live in a home.
BUSTER - D.O.B. July 2016. Neutered. 🌻
SIZE: Big. 25/30kgs. TYPE: Boxer X. OTHER DOGS: Yes. CATS: Can be tested. CHILDREN: 10+. ON THE LEAD: Can be tested. 🐩 Buster is the father of the 4 remaining beach puppies. They were very excited to see him when he arrived at the shelter. Buster is a friendly dog who likes people. He also gets on well with the other dogs at the shelter.
BELLA - 3 years old. Spayed.
SIZE: Medium/big. TYPE: Collie X. OTHER DOGS: Yes. CATS: Can be tested. CHILDREN: Possibly. ON THE LEAD: Can be tested. 🐩 Bella and her friend Pippa almost fell victim to the dog catchers but were saved just in time. Bella gets on well with the other dogs at the shelter and she's a friendly girl with people. She would probably suit a more active household. Bella weighs approximately 16kg and could live happily with a resident dog. She can be cat tested upon request. Bella is spayed.
PIPPA - Born March 2016. Spayed.

ON THE LEAD: Can be tested. 🐩 Pippa was saved from the dog catchers in early October 2018 by a very kind member of the public. She is approximately 3 years old, a sweet natured girl who is equally happy playing with other dogs, or laying around in the sun. She weighs about 20kg. She likes being with people and would probably prefer a home where there is a resident dog, but this is not essential. She can be cat tested upon request. She is spayed.
RIA - 3 yrs old. Spayed 💖
SIZE: Medium. TYPE: Labrador type X. OTHER DOGS: Yes. CATS: Can be cat tested. CHILDREN: Possibly. ON THE LEAD: Can be tested. 🐩 Ria could be described as the perfect dog. She is approximately 3 years old and weighs around 35 kg. She is a beautiful cream colour and very like a Labrador in physique. She was found abandoned on the street, nursing her 3 puppies. She is a happy, gentle dog who enjoys her time playing with the other dogs and really loves a fuss and a cuddle from people. She does not need an active family, she's very relaxed. She could live happily with other dogs, or as an only pet. She can be cat tested upon request. Ria has been spayed.
RUBY - D.O.B. May 2016. Spayed. 🌺

She was a little nervous when she first arrived with her puppies, but has since blossomed into a loving girl who likes people and being with the other dogs. She has a calm temperament. She will take a little time to get to know you but once she does she will make a fantastic companion.
JAKE - D.O.B. May 2013. Neutered. 🍊
SIZE: Medium. TYPE: Labrador-type X? OTHER DOGS: Yes. CATS: Yes. ON THE LEAD. Can be tested. 🐩 Jake is dad to the 5 Mr.John puppies. He is adapting well to being in the shelter with lots of other dogs. He loves fuss and attention. He can live with another dog, though he would need some guidance initially. Overall he is a friendly dog with a lovely scruffy coat.
SANDY - D.O.B. March 2015. Spayed ⛵️
SIZE: Medium. TYPE: GSD type X. OTHER DOGS: Yes. CATS: Can be tested. CHILDREN: 10+ ON LEAD: Can be tested. 🐩 Sandy was very sad when she first arrived at the shelter but she is beginning to relax. She is fine around all the other dogs, though still a little shy with people. She is the mum of 7 puppies.
BRUNO - 4/5 yrs old. Neutered.
SIZE: Big. 30kg +. TYPE: Cane Corso/Boxer X. OTHER DOGS: Females Yes. CATS: Yes. CHILDREN: 10+. ON THE LEAD: Used to traffic. Strong but walks well. Bruno is currently in foster with cats and, at one point, at least 10 other dogs. He has been in foster for approximately 2 years. He loves people and going for walks. He is aggressive over food if approached by other dogs.
SALLY - 3 yrs old. Spayed.

She is tall, and slightly bigger than medium size. She will need some basic training and would benefit from a resident dog to show her the ropes. She is spayed.

She is now just over a year old. She is the most shy of the siblings, but not excessively so and she will need a little time and help to settle into a home environment. Once she knows you she enjoys a fuss. She loves playing with other dogs and would benefit from the presence of a resident dog to show her the ropes. She has typical puppy energy levels and weighs about 18/19 kg. She has been spayed and vaccinated. She can be cat tested.

She weighs approximately 19kg and arrived at the shelter as a puppy with mum Ria and two sisters. Now just over a year old, Trudie loves running around the yard with the other dogs and would benefit from living with a resident dog who could show her the ropes. She is slightly shy at first, but once she knows you she loves fuss and attention. She is spayed and vaccinated and can be cat tested upon request.

She arrived at the shelter with mum Ria and her two sisters when she was a tiny puppy. She is now just over a year old and ready for a loving family. She is a little shy, but not excessively, and would benefit from a resident dog to show her the ropes. Once settled she will enjoy plenty of fuss. She is energetic and playful with other dogs and would love plenty of walks. She is spayed and vaccinated and cat be cat tested upon request.

ON LEAD: Can be tested. 🐕 Sara is around 1 year old and came to the shelter when she was about 8 weeks old, along with her mum and siblings. She is a fairly small dog, weighing about 14kg. She is a lovely, gentle puppy who is happy in the company of other dogs. She is a little shy with people and will need a bit of time and patience to come around. He now enjoys mingling with the other dogs, and occasionally forgets himself and joins in with their games! He would benefit from a quieter household, perhaps rural, and would be happier living with one or two calm dogs rather than being the only dog. He is wary of people.

Not available for adoption yet. 🐈Carmela was found as a small kitten in November 2017, freezing in the snow. She is a very quiet, nervous girl. She is wary of human contact but will accept a quiet, gentle fuss. Carmela is fine with the other cats and smaller dogs, but she doesn't interact with them, rather she sits back and observes. She is happy to have kittens snuggle with her. Carmela would appreciate a quiet, calm home, perhaps as the only pet.
TWINKLE - Born June 2018. Spayed. 💗

ON LEAD: Can be tested. 🐩 Twinkle was living on a rubbish dump when she was found and she had swollowed a plastic bag, which needed surgery to remove. She is understandably nervous around people and she will need patient adopters who are willing to give her the time she needs to learn to trust them. She would benefit from living with one or two other dogs in a calm household. Her sister Annie is also at the shelter.
ANNIE - Born June 2018. Spayed. 💗
SIZE: Small/Medium. TYPE: X. OTHER DOGS: Yes. CATS: Yes. CHILDREN: 10+. ON LEAD: Can be tested. 🐩 Annie is the sister of Twinkle, both of whom were found living on a rubbish dump. Annie is more nervous than Twinkle, but she is fine around other dogs so she needs to live in a home with one or two other dogs. She will need adopters who are patient and understanding and who are willing to go at her pace.
GINA - D.O.B. July 2008. Spayed.

She is okay around the quieter dogs but she is nervous of the more energetic dogs. She is nervous of people and shys away from being touched. She will need very special adopters who are willing to give her time and space and rebuild her confidence and trust. She could live with a quiet, friendly dog. She just needs comfort and calm in her final years.
NERO - 18 yrs old.
When Gabriela found out that the dog catchers had taken an 18 year old dog to the kill shelter, she was straight there to rescue Nero. He is too old to travel but he is happy venough at the shelter for now. Ideally we would like to get him into foster.
